Where is the conference?

The AMSMZ & ASAM 2017 Conference will be held at Crowne Plaza Queenstown. 

Will there be parking available at the venue?

Parking is available to delegates at the Crowne Plaza Queenstown for NZ$15 per car, per day. 

Do I need a visa to visit New Zealand?

AMSNZ, ASAM and the Conference Organisers hold no responsibility for the application and process of any entry requirements to the country. 

What do I do if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

In the event of flight delay or cancellation, delegates are to call their airline to discuss any queries and discuss the next steps. We (Iceberg Events and AMSNZ and ASAM) do not accept any responsibility for how airlines will manage the delay and/or cancellation. It is important that all delegates travelling to the conference have valid travel insurance. 

I have a special dietary requirement, how is this managed at the conference? 

When you complete the registration form, indicate your special dietary requirements when prompted. The Conference Organisers will pass this onto the venue to ensure a meal will be prepared for you at each conference catering break and social functions (if you are in attendance). Please introduce yourself to the venue staff onsite.

Will there be free WiFi?

Free WiFi will be available for delegates on the conference floor. The WiFi access code will be supplied to you onsite at the event.


Where can I find the program?

The program will be made available on this website once the 'Call for Abstracts' process has been finalised. Click here to view the online program which is updated when program changes are made. 

Will there be a printed program?

Yes, the conference program will be printed within the pocket program and will be located in the back of your name badge. No handbook will be printed. 


How do I register?

Due to reaching maximum capacity at Crowne Plaza Queenstown, registrations are now closed.

What currency will my registration fees be charged in?

Registration fees for AMSNZ & ASAM 2017 Conference are being applicable in Australian Dollars.

Is there Australian or New Zealand GST applicable to my registration fees?

No Australian or New Zealand GST is charged on registration fees. If you need to claim NZ GST on your accommodation, you may choose to request a receipt following your stay directly from your accommodation provider.

When will I receive my confirmation letter and tax invoice?

Standard processing time is 24 - 48 hours. If you register on a weekend, you will be emailed the next business day. Your confirmation email will include;

  • Confirmation letter listing you registration selection, optional extras and accommodation details (if selected)
  • Tax Invoice 
  • Important links to the conference website

‚ÄčWhat do I need to bring with me to the registration desk onsite?

We recommend bringing your confirmation letter with you as this outlines all of your registration details and outines if you have booked additional tickets to the social functions. If you are a replacing a colleague's registration, you will be required to present identification at the registration desk. 

Is there a discount for not-for-profits?

The only discount available was the earlybird registration, however registrations are now closed. To join the conference registration wait list, please click here. 


Who do I contact to make an accommodation booking?

I need to make a change to my accommodation booking, who do I call?

Please contact Iceberg Events if you have any enquiries or changes to your accommodation booking. We are managing the group booking with both Crowne Plaza Queenstown and Hotel St Moritz and they will instruct you to contact Iceberg Events directly. 

Is breakfast included in my accommodation booking?

Breakfast is not included in the delegate rates we have made available. Both Crowne Plaza Queenstown and Hotel St Moritz have breakfast available in house, with pricing available by clicking here. 

What do I need on arrival to the hotel?

If you have booked accommodation via Iceberg Events and the online registration form, you will only need to provide your name to hotel reception. Click here for check-in and check-out times. 

Why is there no GST showing on my accommodation invoice from Iceberg Events?

No Australian or New Zealand GST is charged on registration fees. If you need to claim NZ GST on your accommodation, you may choose to request a receipt following your stay directly from your accommodation provider.

Where can I find out information on the social functions?

Will there be a Welcome Reception?

The Welcome Reception will be held on Thursday 31 August 2017 from 5pm-7pm at ThreeSixty Bar and Restaurant, Ground Level, conference venue. Click here for more information. 

Will there be a Conference Dinner?

The Conference Dinner will be held on Saturday 2 September 2017 at Skyline Queenstown, for delegates to network and relax after a full day of sessions. Bus transfers will not be provided for this function. Click here for more information. 

I can't remember if I purchased tickets to the Welcome Reception/Conference Dinner?

If you have registered as a full conference registration, you will have a ticket to both functions automatically included. You can also purchase additional tickets to these social functions if required.

Visiting Queenstown

What will the weather be like?

The conference will be held in Queenstown during the end of Winter with average temperatures at this time of year to be between 0°C (or colder) and 8°C. Expect frosty mornings, clear blue skies, snowfall and cold temperatures. Please bring along appropriate warm clothing. Conference sessions will be held inside, with heated facilities.
