Chris was trained at Duke University Medical Center in internal medicine and psychiatry. His family came to New Zealand for 3 years (8 years ago).
At Auckland Hospital Chris is a General Medicine physician in the morning and a Liaison Psychiatrist in the afternoon. He also provides medical support for the inpatient psychiatric hospital, HIV neuropsychiatry and clozapine toxicity management for the DHB. He is a neuropsychiatry consultant for the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand and sits on external review panels for complex cases for the Accident Compensation Corporation of New Zealand as a representative of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
His research interests are:
- Clozapine toxicity and prevention.
- Neuropsychiatric side effects of steroids.
- Factitious and somatoform disorders.
- Mental health in the aviation community.
