Technical Tours

All technical tours will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday, 19 October and are included in the full registrations. Places for each technical tour are limited, subject to availability and will be allocated on a first-in-first-served basis.

South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI)

Location: South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI)
Meet: SAHMRI main entrance foyer, North Terrace, Adelaide (at 1.45pm)
Cost: Included in Full Conference Registration
Highlights: Take a guided tour of the South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute including SAHMRI’s state of the art interiors, atrium, plaza area and spiral staircase. The tour will also include an introduction to the facility's engineering services, including environmental / energy efficiency initiatives and unique maintenance requirements by one of SAHMRI's major contractors.

Adelaide Oval

Time: 2pm-3pm
Location: Adelaide Oval
Meet: Concierge desk, ground floor, Adelaide Oval, South Gate entrance of the Riverbank Stand (at 1.45pm). The stadium entrance door is located next to the Oval's Cafe, off War Memorial Drive
Cost: Included in Full Conference Registration
Highlights: Go behind closed doors with the General Manager of Operations and Commercial and gain some unique insights into the redevelopment of this iconic structure, the engineering services required to run a world-class sporting facility and a bit about the history of the Adelaide Oval. 

New Royal Adelaide Hospital (NRAH)

Location: New Royal Adelaide Hospital, Corner of Port Road, North Terrace and West Terrace 
Meet: Site Office at Gate A on Port Road (at 1.45pm)
Cost: Included in Full Conference Registration
Dress: Strict PPE: Long pants (no skirts/dresses or stockings are permitted) and long sleeved shirts are required. Steel Cap Boots will be provided.
Highlights: The new Royal Adelaide Hospital will be the State’s flagship hospital and the most advanced hospital in Australia, with state of the art facilities that are flexible and adaptable to future changes in healthcare practices. Join a group to look at this amazing new facility with particular attention to be paid to the healthcare practice and engineering technological advances adopted throughout the facility.
