The Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia (SSAA) was established in 1948 in order to promote the shooting sports and protect firearm owners’ interests. Those roles remain the same today, and with around 180,000 members, the SSAA is the premier shooting and hunting body representing firearm owners in Australia.
The SSAA has won national recognition for its participation in the control of pest animals and regularly supports research and conservation efforts. The Association has partnered with The University of Queensland on research projects previously and its commitment to this relationship has led the SSAA to be the major financial supporter of this conference.
