Michael Connelly

Co-commander of the Northern Ohio Law Enforcement Task Force

Lieutenant Michael Connelly is a 25-year veteran of the Cleveland, Ohio Division of Police. He is currently the co-commander of the Northern Ohio Law Enforcement Task Force. He formerly held positions as supervisor of the Narcotics Unit Major Investigation Squad, Officer in Charge of the 4th District Detective Bureau, Vice and Strike Force Units. He has also held positions as patrol officer, detective and patrol supervisor in Cleveland’s 2nd, 3rd and 4th Districts.

Lt. Connelly studied Criminal Justice at the University of Akron and is a graduate of the 252nd session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, the Drug Enforcement Administration Drug Unit Commander’s Academy, and the Cleveland Police Academy. Lt Connelly formerly held a position as a commissioned officer in the Army National Guard where he successfully completed Officer Candidate School.

Lt. Connelly has been awarded the Cleveland Police Medal of Heroism, Chief’s Commendation Award, Distinguished Service Award and Special Commendation Award. He was also awarded The Federal Bureau of Investigation Medal for Meritorious Achievement.
