Morning tea, workshops and exhibition is held in the Boulevard Room.

 

Workshop: VR Technology, facilitated by Hansel Addae-Bosomprah
Be immersed and transported into the future of training and simulation by the Valley General Hospital Team.
VR sessions include:

  • Initiating non-invasive ventilation for a patient with respiratory failure
  • Aero-ventilation: Setting up a Hamilton T1 transport mechanical ventilator in an RFDS plane
  • Basic Life Support

 

Workshop: Haemodynamic Monitoring, facilitated  by Dr Andras Nyikovics & Jannien Senekal
This is an interactive and dynamic workshop where participants can experience and learn about the following:

  • Point of care echocardiography and lung ultrasound
  • Non-invasive continuous cardiac output monitoring technology 
  • Real-time assessment of volume responsiveness with passive leg raise (PLR) manoeuvre 
  • Non-invasive assessment of afterload/pressure responsiveness
  • Application of the above technological advances in clinical practice
