Nurses' Dinner Sponsor
A sit down dinner is proposed for the evening of Monday 23 October at a venue close to the Hotel Realm. There are no other events scheduled for this evening of the ASM.
The event may feature a speaker or other activity at your discretion.
The event will be open to all nurses registering for the conference, either as a full registrant or day registrant for any day of the conference. Each participant will cover the cost of their food and beverages.
The event will be positioned as an integral part of the program and will be included in the ASM registration form. It is expected that 15-20 people will attend.

WorkSafe ACT
WorkSafe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the Work Health and Safety and Labour Hire Licence Commissioner. WorkSafe ACT is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and associated legislation including Workers’ Compensation, Dangerous Substances and Labour Hire Licensing.
Amongst its strategies to minimise physical and psychosocial harm and improve WHS culture and practice, is the WorkSafe ACT Strategy for Preventing Occupational Lung Diseases 2021-2023. The priority hazards identified in this strategy are:
- work-related and work exacerbated asthma
- silica-related diseases
- chemicals, dusts, gases and fumes, and
- weather and air quality.
In the ACT, amendments made to the WHS Regulation 2011 prohibit uncontrolled dry cutting of crystalline silica materials and mandate silica dust exposure prevention training for workers involved in high risk crystalline silica work.
WorkSafe ACT is committed to:
- raising awareness of the risks of silica and silica-related diseases
- preventing ACT workers from exposure to silica dust, and
- ensuring duty holders meet their workplace obligations and responsibilities to protect people working with silica containing materials.
