The 8th Annual National Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Conference will be held at Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane.

The pre-conference workshop will be held on Monday 10 September and the conference on Tuesday 11 September 2018.

This conference is relevant to everyone with an interest in BPD - mental health clinicians, other professionals working with people with BPD, those with lived experience, their families and friends.

  • Corporate, Government or Clinical

Individuals who are staff, board or others representing a business, organisation, government, tertiary institution, or parliamentarians.

  • Not-for-profit (NFP) Employee

Employee of an organisation that does not operate for the profit or personal gain of its members.

  • Self-funded

A person who does NOT identify as having a lived experience of BPD as a consumer, carer or family member and is paying for the registration personally.

  • Lived Experience or Student (employed)

A person who identifies as having or had a lived experience of BPD as a consumer, carer or family member and IS currently employed.  Student on placement where registration is paid by employer.

The BPD Foundation offered a limited number of very discounted tickets to support those with lived experience to attend. This quota has now been allocated.

  • All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars and include 10% GST.
  • If you are paying by credit card your statement will display as a transaction with Iceberg Events.
  • A 1.70% non-refundable surcharge applies to credit card transactions.
  • Earlybird registration rates are available until Friday, 13 July 2018.
  • A separate registration form needs to be completed per attendee. 



Conference Registration includes attendance and catering on Tuesday 11 September 2018, access to the trade area, and a conference satchel.

Pre-Conference Workshop Registration (Monday 10 September)

Pre-Conference Workshop is available to Mental Health clinicians and other professionals working with people with personality disorders.

Pre-conference workshop registration includes attendance at the workshop on Monday 10 September only, access to the trade area and daytime catering on Monday, and the conference satchel.

networking event (tuesday 11 september)

A networking event will be held following the conclusion of sessions on Tuesday 11 September 2018 at the Grand Chancellor Hotel Brisbane. A selection of canapes will be served and a drink ticket will be provided to each attendee.

Networking Event Ticket: $25 per person



Special accommodation rates are available to Conference attendees at Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane (conference venue).

Registration: Registration fees for BPD 2018 are being charged in Australian Dollars and includes all taxes. By completing your registration you have confirmed your attendance at the conference and acknowledgement of the below terms and conditions.

Privacy: The Australian BPD Foundation and/or the event organisers (Iceberg Events) will use the information you provide on the registration form to be in touch with you and to provide updates and information related to the 8th Annual National Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Conference. By registering, you agree that we may process your information in accordance to these terms. We will treat your information with respect. 

Registration Cancellations: All cancellations must be made in writing to Iceberg Events. Cancellations received prior to 10 August 2018 will be refunded less a $99 administration fee. Cancellations received on or after 10 August 2018 will not be refunded, although substitute delegates are welcome.

Accommodation Bookings: To take advantage of the discounted accommodation rates, bookings must be made via Iceberg Events. Any changes to your booking must be made via email to Iceberg Events: – not direct with the hotel. Any bookings outside of the conference dates (being in 10 September 2018, out 11 September 2018) will be subject to the hotels' availability and best available daily rate. If you would like to book a longer stay, please do so via the registration form and you will be contacted by Iceberg Events if there are any cost differences advised by the hotel. Please note cancelled bookings or failure to arrive at the hotel on the designated date of arrival (no-show) will incur penalties.

Full payment for your entire stay must be received before accommodation will be confirmed.  If payment for bookings has not been received 30 days out from the event, your accommodation booking will be released. 

A block of accommodation is held for this event, at the prices advertised. Occasionally, the accommodation block shown will be exceeded by a rush of last minute bookings. Should this occur, every effort will be made to acquire more rooms at the rate advertised, at the same, or similar (nearby) venue. Should we be unable to acquire more rooms at a rate equal to or less than the advertised rate, your accommodation deposit will be refunded to you. We will communicate with you throughout this process.

Accommodation Cancellations: must be made in writing to Iceberg Events prior to 10 August 2018. Refunds will not be made on cancellations after 10 August 2018 due to group booking policies. Substitutes are welcome. 

Insurance: insurance, including medical cover and travel insurance, is the responsibility of the delegate. The Organising Committee and Conference Organisers will take no responsibility for any participant failing to insure.

Disclaimer: the program is correct at the time of printing, but the Conference Organisers reserve the right to alter the program if and as is deemed necessary.

Liability: The Organising Committee and/or Conference Organisers shall not be held liable for personal accidents or losses or damage to private property of registered delegates of the Conference. Delegates should make their own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.
