Scholarship packages available for tactile Auslan users

 

The conference planning committee are pleased to offer a limited number of scholarship packages to tactile Auslan users who will be travelling to the conference from interstate and need to bring their own communication support.

 

Platform interpreters only will be provided at this conference.  This scholarship is for tactile Auslan users who plan to bring their own supports (interpreters and comm guides). There are limited scholarships available.

 

Scholarships (up to $3000.00) can be used to cover:

  • return economy air fares for two people (interpreter/comm guides only)
  • accommodation two nights x 2 people (interpreter/comm guides only)
  • meals at conference only x 2 people (interpreter/comm guides only)

 

Note the sponsorships are not to be used for registration costs for people with deafblindness.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must be deafblind and use tactile Auslan as primary communication mode
  • Must require one on one support to facilitate communication – (tactile interpreter/comm guides)
  • Must be based outside of Western Australia– travelling to Perth for the conference

 

The scholarships will be provided by way of reimbursement. Conference attendee will need to book and pay for flights and accommodation for their communication supports and then these will be reimbursed once receipts are received.
