SensesWA is honoured to be hosting the 11th National Deafblind Conference to be held Thursday 30th of June to Friday 1st of July, 2022.  Pre-conferences will also be held Wednesday 29th of June, 2022. 

Deafblindness is a unique and isolating sensory disability resulting from a combination of both a hearing and vision loss or impairment, which significantly affects communication, socialisation, mobility and daily living.

SensesWA is a Not-for-Profit organisation with significant expertise and history in supporting people with deafblindness and multiple disabilities throughout Australia.

The theme for the conference is:


“Deafblind Keeping Connected through COVID and beyond” 


In keeping with this theme, we aim to showcase research, experiences and best practices that are shaping the world for those who are deafblind. The 11th National deafblind conference is conference is not only for academics and professionals working in the field of deafblindness, but also professional interpreters and communication guides, people who are deafblind, together with families of people with both acquired and congenital deafblindness.
