Tauran Zaidi Ahmad Zaidi

Senior Deputy Director, Ministry of Health Malaysia

Tauran Zaidi graduated with degrees in Bachelor of Science ( Mechanical Engineering), at the University of Iowa, USA in 1985 and Master of Science (Building Services Engineering), at Brunel University, UK in 1997. His career with Ministry of Health Malaysia began in 1985 as a mechanical engineer,  has 31 years working experience in Hospital Engineering covering various engineering related fields involving healthcare facility management, operation and maintenance, engineering designs, project management, management of hospital support services (facility engineering services, biomedical engineering services, cleansing services, linen and laundry services and healthcare waste services). He has been actively involved in the development of engineering standards, guidelines, procedures and other professional activities for the health sector in Malaysia and at international level with SIRIM, DSM, BEAM, IFHE, UNICEF and WHO. He is also currently involved in developing the competency system for healthcare facility management together with the MOH, the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), UNIMAS and BEAM and the relevant health sector industry players.
