welcome

The Australasian Injury Prevention Network (AIPN) are pleased to invite you to the premier injury prevention conference for Australia and the Asia Pacific, the 14th Australasian Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Conference, to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane, Australia, 25 – 27 November 2019.

With a theme of Pushing the Boundaries, this conference will challenge the traditional injury prevention paradigms to examine future disruptions and opportunities for injury prevention. This will be explored through innovative technologies and changing digital societies, and new multisectoral strategies for partnerships across government portfolios, clinicians, practitioners, industry, researchers and community.

Themes will be varied and cover traditional injury prevention and health promotion topics such as child and family safety, road and transport safety, falls and ageing, water safety (including drowning), burns prevention, rural and remote injury prevention, sports injury prevention and treatment, workplace safety and injury amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Additional themes will include topics such as digital disruption in injury prevention, eHealth and future trends.

The Conference is expected to attract over 200 delegates from around Australia and the Asia Pacific, including health professionals, researchers, local, state and Australian government officers, students, professionals and practitioners. Delegates will have the opportunity to share knowledge, form or extend networks and explore local attractions.

We look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane, in November 2019.
