The conference introduced the basic concepts of stereo-EEG methodology and was split between lectures followed by small group sessions, where participants worked through individual cases, guided by a clinical tutor. At the end of each day, the small groups came together to have case presentations which generated discussion and dialogue amongst all participants.

Each case followed from phase 1 all the way to implantation and surgical strategy.

The conference was the first of its kind in Australia and was open to only 60 participants.
