SFT-22: It's time to reconvene and meet in person!

On behalf of the University of Queensland’s Centre for Online Health and the Australian Telehealth Society (ATHS), we are very excited to announce plans for the 22nd Successes and Failures in Telehealth Conference (SFT-22) and the 14th Annual Meeting of the ATHS.  Mark the dates in your diary and get ready for SFT-22, which will be held from 9-11 November 2022 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, in Queensland.

The SFT conference is an interactive experience that promotes engagement, innovation, critical debate, and future planning of telehealth and digital health care services. The SFT conferences have been running since 2001 and remain one of the largest academic and industry supported telehealth conferences in the southern hemisphere.  With all of the attention and increased uptake of telehealth we have seen throughout Australia and around the world, SFT-22 will be a time to connect and share experience – and navigate requirements for sustaining telehealth as a business-as-usual feature of our health system.

This year we received over 110 abstracts for presentations at SFT-22. All abstracts were peer-reviewed by an international panel. The SFT-22 conference program includes over 90 presentations which will be delivered in plenary, concurrent and poster sessions.  Delegates will enjoy a broad range of themed sessions including the use of telehealth for the treatment of chronic disease; remote patient monitoring; supporting patients in under-resourced communities; responding to COVID-19; clinical education and telemonitoring; allied health services; primary care services; specialist medical services; and aged care.

Delegates will also be able to choose from a selection of optional workshops on Day 1 (Wednesday 9 November, 2022), designed for beginner to advanced telehealth providers, managers and researchers. Workshops include designing a telehealth service; evaluating telehealth and biostatistics; and an introduction to telehealth for delegates new to the area. In addition, the SFT-22 will offer an exclusive trade exhibition, represented by all of our exhibitors, sponsors and partner organisations.

Don’t miss out on hearing from our Keynote speaker Professor Richard Osborne (Director Global Health and Equity, Swinburne University).  Richard will be tackling the issue of scalability of telehealth interventions, and reflecting on his international experience leading health literacy projects in partnership with the World Health Organisation. His expert advice will be very timely!  And we will also be having an in-person book launch by Dr Alan Taylor who will be presenting his published work which compares telehealth experience in Australia and Brazil.

Remember that early-bird and group registration discounts are available for SFT-22, and if you are a member of the ATHS, you immediately qualify for a special discount.

We look forward to meeting you at SFT-22, and trust that this conference provides you with plenty of inspiration and the opportunity to share your ideas and experience with others in the industry.
