Dr Mehan Siriwardhane completed a fellowship in minimally invasive HPB and completed the fellowship training program of the ANZ HPB Association. He finished his post fellowship training by undertaking a year of HPB and liver transplant surgery at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Dr Siriwardhane is qualified to perform robotic surgery and completed Australia's first Public robotic Whipple operation in 2017.
He concurrently undertakes humanitarian work conducting training in HPB and general surgery as part of the outreach programs of the IHPBA since 2014. As a result, he has an honourary fellowship of the College of Surgeons in Sri Lanka.
