Dr Ursula King is a senior clinician, research academic, and skilled facilitator. With over three decades in the Australian service sector, Dr King has developed a diverse and nuanced understanding of health and health services. Having completed Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, she focuses her clinical work on acute care in resource-challenged environments. This work is complemented by her role as an Early Management of Severe Trauma/Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor.
Dr King is internationally recognised for her research into the socio-ecological determinants of health, particularly with respect to Indigenous health. She has worked in policy and program management roles across the Australian public sector, has a MPH and PhD, and holds honorary associate professor appointments with both the University’s of Sydney and Melbourne medical schools.
