Dr Widyastuti has wide experience in healthcare administration. She did her medical education at University of Indonesia, post-graduate public health at the National University of Singapore and attained her doctoral degree from University of Indonesia. She started as mobile service clinic medical officer at Jakarta Health Department, then got appointed as family health officer at Ministry of Health. Later as director of community health, she administered national healthcare program for the poor. Further as director of managed care, she dealt with advancing quality and cost-contained healthcare, including formulating national health insurance within social security legislation.
Her work in PERSI includes international collaboration in hospital care and health system development towards UHC.
