Mr Lau, is one of the leaders in Emergency Nursing in Hong Kong. He had been appointed, for several occasions under emergency situations, by the Government to go abroad with very short notice, to participate in overseas rescue operations such as the 2004 South Asian tsunami (Phuket, Thailand), great earthquake occurred in Wenchuan (China) in 2008, and the hostage incident in Manila (the Philippines) in 2010. His outstanding contribution to the rescue operations received high commendation from Chief Executive of the Government.
