Hon. Steven Miles MP, Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services
Steven Miles is Queensland’s Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services.
Steven spent three years in the Environment portfolio where he introduced a ban on single use plastic bags and a cash for container refund scheme, delivered next generation environmental laws that make sure mining companies clean up their mines and revitalised Queensland’s climate change initiatives. As the first Minister for the Great Barrier Reef, Steven secured record funding for projects that clean up the reef.
Before entering Parliament in 2015, Steven worked as a senior advisor to government, as a senior campaigner for Together and United Voice, and co-founded national parent advocacy organisation, The Parenthood before starting his own communications business.
Steven and his wife Kim are raising their three children Sam, Aidan and Bridie in the Moreton Bay Region suburb of Mango Hill.
